Terms and Conditions

• OMSMC We Care, We Love, We Heal Short Film Competition (“the Competition”) is organized by Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (“the Organizer”).
• The Competition starts from 17th June 2016 and the closing date for submission is by 6.00 pm, 19th September 2016.
• Entries received after the submission deadline or are damaged, corrupted, incomplete or illegible will not be accepted and will be disqualified.
• The Organizer may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the competition period at any time without prior notice to any party whatsoever. Unless otherwise varied to the contrary by the Organizer, any participation in the Competition during the extended period (if any) shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein which shall remain in full force and effect at all times.
• The Organizer reserves the right to modify the contest mechanisms, withdraw or terminate this Competition at any time at its sole and absolute discretion without prior notices to any party or person.

Eligibility & Submission Requirements

• The competition is open to all Malaysian citizens and/or permanent residents with no age or demographic restrictions and no entry fee charged.
• Participants are required to make a short film based on the theme with video length of no longer than 5 minutes (including titles and credits, with no minimum length).
• Participants are to submit the Application Form together with their video entry (incomplete entries will not be considered).
• Entries can include any elements that is related to the Theme provided and MUST contain OMSMC (Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre) Corporate Logo at the end of the video before the credits roll.
• The dialogue of the film can be in ANY vernacular language/dialect and MUST be accompanied by English subtitles and additionally with Malay, Chinese and/or Tamil subtitle.
• The primary contact completing the submission process must be authorized to submit the film(s) and must have obtained permission for the inclusion of copyrighted materials within the film, when necessary.
• Films must be original pieces of work and contain no copyright material, unless written and certified permission is given by the owner.
• Films shall not contain any profanity, nudity, pornographic images or explicit sexual themes, graphic violence, defamatory or libelous statements or material considered illegal.
• All forms/genre of work are accepted, including animation, documentary, drama or musical and so forth.
• Entries must not have been submitted to any other contests/competition/film festival before.
• All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the entry and the participation of this contest shall be fully borne by the Participants.
• Entries will be judged equally based on (A) Creativity; (B) Originality; and (C) Appropriateness to the Theme. Judges’ decision is final, conclusive and binding. No further appeal, inquiry and/or correspondence will be entertained.
• The video entry must be in one of the following formats: MPEG4, MOV, AVI, or WMV. The entry must be at least 1280 × 720. Recommended video resolution is 1920 × 1080. Video quality must be clear on a full computer screen with clear audio quality.

How to Submit

• All complete entries are to be submitted via online file transfer (e.g. wetransfer, google drive etc) towllee@orientalmedical.com.my by 6.00 pm, 19th September 2016.

• All submission must comply with the submission requirements and format video in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.

Prizes

• The Prize Winners will receive the following:
  • 1st Prize – Cash RM 3,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • 2nd Prize – Cash RM 2,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • 3rd Prize – Cash RM 1,000 + Trophy + Certificate
• Special Prizes
  • Best Director – Cash RM 1,500 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Story-line/Script – Cash RM 1,500 + Trophy + Certificate
  • People’s Choice Award – Cash RM 1,000 + Trophy + Certificate

• The Organizer reserves the right at its absolute discretion to substitute any of the prizes with alternative prizes of similar value, at any time without prior notice. All prizes are given on an “As is” basis and are not exchangeable or sold for cash, credit, other items or voucher in part or in full and are non-transferable to any other person.
• Incomplete entries and/or the failure to fulfill all or any of the Terms and Conditions will automatically disqualify the Eligible Participants from the Competition without prior notice.
• The Top 3 best submissions as determined by the judges in their sole discretion will be judged for its ranking of the prizes. The judges’ decision is final, conclusive and binding.
• Eligible Participants may submit more than one (1) entry but only one (1) prize will be given for each of the Top 3 prize winners.

People’s Choice Award

• All Eligible Participants stand a chance to win the People’s Choice Award. There is only one (1) People’s Choice Award. The Organizer will upload videos of all the Eligible Participants to Official Website (www.orientalmedical.com.my), Official Facebook Account (https://www.facebook.com/OMSMCMelaka) and Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre’s Channel in Youtube from 20th September 2016. Video with the highest no. of shares and likes by 12:00 pm on 10 October 2016 will qualify as a winner for the People’s Choice Award.

Announcement of the Winners

• The winners of the Competition will be notified via email or phone no later than 14 October 2016 or such other date as decided by the Organizer at its absolute discretion, to present in person at the Prize Presentation venue to collect their prize. However, the Organizer reserves the right to change the venue and/or timing of Prize Presentation at its sole discretion without prior notification.
• In the event that a submission created by a group (and submitted by a Primary Entrant) is declared the winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, the prize will be awarded to the primary participant and it will be the responsibility of the primary participant to distribute the prize.
• The winners are fully responsible for any injuries, damages or claims as a result of or arising from their participation in the Competition, usage of their prize and/or collection of their prize. All transportation, accommodation, personal cost and/or any other costs and/or any other related expenses that are incurred to participate in this Competition and/or to redeem the prize are the sole responsibility of the Eligible Participants and winners.

Disclaimers

Ownership

• By entering this competition, participant(s) agree to provide the organizer with the right to use the competition materials for showcasing any and all works produced by the participant(s) under the competition for the organizer’s promotional and education purposes. The participant(s) further agree that the organizer reserves the right to use the participant(s)’ name in connection with such uses, but shall have no obligation to do so.

Limitations on Liability

• The Organizer, its group of companies, its directors and its employees hereby disclaim any and all liabilities that may arise in connection with the Competition Entries. Further, the Organizer and its employees shall not be held responsible for any Competition Entries that are lost or damaged in transit. Competition Entries are automatically rejected if they are incomplete, unreadable, damaged, or otherwise not in compliance with the Competition Rules and Regulations. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or extend the Competition at any point of time.
• By providing their personal data, Participants are deemed to have read and understood the Notice under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 which can be found HERE and Participants also agree and consent that their personal data be used in the same manner for this competition.
